im a male and im 16 and want to become a Commercial model is there any agency’s u know of for Commercial modeling

  2. dicky says:

If you are in NY these are the top men’s agencies – almost all have commercial divisions as there isn’t enough runway work for men

  3. dicky says:

Will you get hired from a professional company if you don’t have a modeling agency?

  4. Alittlebirdy says:

Maybe…although big companies usually use an agency to hire models for big shoots. Small local businesses though will normally hire people without going through an agency…small budgets normally don’t want to pay agency fees. If you do go with something like this you may need to wear your own clothes and do your own hair and makeup. Make a list of small businesses in your area and contact them or their marketing rep to see if they ever have a need for local models.

  5. dicky says:

as what to know if there is a modeling agency that exist named “model”?

  6. Lulu says:

More info: The agency would NOT cover the cost of the course, the potential model would have to pay for it. And the potential model has no experience.

  7. dicky says:

No. Whenever you have to pay before you get something from them they are not serious.
Many model guides (e.g. in magazines) tell you so.

I want to enroll my handsome Nephew in London in a modeling agency! How should I do that?

  9. Kittysue says:

First of all, you can’t enroll your nephew – only his parents can. You are not his legal guardian and cannot agree to any contracts nor allow him to work

Elisabeth Smith is the oldest and most reputable agency for child models. Elliott Brown is also very good

I would wait until 1 October before your nephew’s parents do anything. Right now many agencies charge upfront registration or website fees. As of 1 October a new law comes into effect that will prevent model agencies from charging upfront fees. So wait until then. If you apply now, you will have to pay – the agencies are going to keep charging until 30 September with no way to get a refund

Ive just been signed with this modeling agency called ‘Media Model Management’, and wanted to check whether they are a genuine company as i have been told to be careful as this is a very easy way to get conned if its not real! They are a new agency which i guess have only been running since about July 2009 but i can’t seem to find any website or background information to check. Can anyone help?

  13. dicky says:

I’ve never heard of them but you say they are new, which is not a good sign. Unless it was started by a top booker/agent who has a lot of connections it’s going to take about 6-12 months for the agency to start bringing in clients, which means it will take that long before most of their models get work

If you have been asked to pay the agency anything out of pocket, it’s a scam. Agencies should only make money after they book you on a job and take their commission, normally 10-20%. You don’t pay your agency for registration, classes, auditions, portfolios, monthly fees or anything else

While you will have to pay to produce your own comp cards and possibly a few test shoots to get your portfolio started after you sign a contract with an agency, these are never paid through your agency or with one specific photographer they force you to use. If an agency is legit you are free to use the photographer of your choice, you negotiate a price, and you pay the photographer directly. At my old agency for example, we had a list of 15 or 20 recommended photographers we gave to our new models but they were free to use any photographer experienced in shooting comp cards and modeling portfolios

I learn that you have to be apart of a agency to become a victoria secret model. Is there any in Florida i can be apart of.
Also what are some requirements to be apart of that agency and can i be apart of the agency at 17.

  15. Kittysue says:

Ford, Elite, Next, MC2, Wilhelmina, Click are all top agencies in Florida that could get you booked on the type of jobs that the VS creative director would see you on. All start signing models at age 14.

They all have a minimum height requirement of 5’8″ which is also the minimum height for a VS model

  16. EmmaA. says:

I’m 15, and an actress, and am just getting into modeling. But what should I expect- I’m going to be a PRINT model, so what should I bring, wear, how do I do my make up? I don’t have a portfolio because I’ve never modeled so do I bring anything?
